4 years ago I felt my life spiraling out of control. I was overworked, stressed out, feeling a loss of control, overweight, malnourished, often sick, not active, feeling insecure, vulnerable, weak and depressed. I needed to center my life, my mind and gain back control. I needed to stop giving out hypocritical advice to my patients about how to live a healthy life when I was living the same way: with unhealthy habits. I decided I needed to fix my health, my strength, center my mind/spirit and built a strong woman from the inside out. It wasn’t about a fad diet or quick fix for me. It was about gaining strength, happiness, confidence and control in my life that would last. I didn’t want to blame others or complain about the negative outcomes in my life any longer. I decided to build a temple I was happy to live in. Your body is a temple. How do you treat yours? I wish I could’ve told myself these things a long time ago: Comparing yourself to others is only beneficial if you do it to be inspired. Don’t do it to put yourself down or feel inferior. You have what it takes to achieve your goals too! Just get started! It’s not a race or a competition! We all have a starting point that looked way bleaker than our ideal goal. You have just as much potential as the idol you look up to. All you need is passion, patience & the drive. Dig deep and find out what motivates you then surround yourself with the strategies & people that will get you there. Your mind is a powerful place and can take you further than you imagine. Don’t look at health or body goals and think it’s not for you. Tell yourself you’re worth it and you can achieve way more than you think. Look to the people that admit their own struggles and defeats but still found ways to keep pushing forward. Look to people who want you to enjoy the fruits of your labor too, who will be happy for your achievements & successes. I’ve struggled with weight😒 I’ve had an eating disorder😞 I’ve hated my body. I’ve tried every diet or starvation trick in the books. I’ve worked out just to try & offset the poor eating choices I was making. I’ve tried the bs waist clinchers & diet pills. I used to obsess about the number on the scale. I used to live off of coffee & junk food snacks at work. I’ve been there! I know what it’s like & I also know it doesn’t have to be that way! I weigh the same if not more than I ever did before in my life & I couldn’t be happier 😁 I eat 4-5 meals a day, I have cheat meals a few times a week and I don’t live in the gym. It’s all about balance and the right approach. Making health a priority set thing in motion I never imagined; my skin cleared up, I lost inches but gained some curves. I sleep better, I’m happier, stronger & more confident. I fell in love with the process & don’t see my healthy meals or the gym as a chore.
