10 journeys, 10 countries, 1 motorcycle. So many nice roads, bad roads, dirt roads and no road at all. This is our top 3: NUMBER 3: North-Western Hungary, Tata to Esztergom through the mountains. Such a nice road and you just wonder why nobody else is here. Hungary is full of "tourist attractions" like monastaries and castles. The trick is to find these on your map - and avoid them! If you do so you will find a lot of pretty little roads through the mountains and see nice villages, and you will be almost alone! NUMBER 2: Botosani region, Romania. Such impressive views with vast, dry, open fields and rolling mountains. Shepherds, cattle and dusty villages. Sometimes you think you are driving through the Bolivian Altiplano or looking for Zeb Macahan in some semi-desert. And when the kids chase you and your motorcycle through town it is a good sign! Not so many motorcycle tourist here obviously NUMBER1: Bereznyi to Skhidnytsya, South-West Ukraine. In Ukraine it is not easy to identify the most interesting roads on your map. A "yellow" road can be full of potholes allowing an average speed of 25 km/h or it can be perfect with new tarmac and lots of traffic. Therefore it is always a good idea to first ask the locals about the way from city A to city B. Then you go the other way! (they of course prefer the good, fast road while you will love the slow, bad road) This road over the Carpathians is so wonderful. From a fairly good tarmac road meandering next to a river in the lowlands to the worst dirt road up in the mountains. Almost no traffic at all and all the time the impressive mountain landscape around you! And that Ukranian woman in the camoflage uniform at the army checkpoint. Holy Carpathians! #carpathians #uralmotorcycle #uralsidecar #uralmotorcycles

10 journeys, 10 countries, 1 motorcycle. Even the roads that you don't like is an interesting experience. This is my top 3: NUMBER 3: When you look at the map it looks really interesting with a small road following the Latvian coastline from Ventspils up to Kolka. You imagine to get a lot of nice views over the Baltic sea to the left and some beautiful forests to the right. But no. Really no! This road is so extremely boring! Just a perfect flat straight line through some perfect pine forest. You can't see the Baltic sea. No Latvian beauties having a swim. And the forest is just too perfect and totally uninteresting. Absolutely nothing is happening here. Nada. And so it goes on for kilometer after kilometer after kilometer. No wait...sorry, I did in fact pass a German bicycle tourist. Poor bastard! NUMBER 2: If you have a slow motorcycle that doesn't like to go faster than 80 km/h, the Suwalki gap between Poland and Lithuania is a nightmare. The road is narrow and surrounded by scary safety wires. All the time you will have some crazy Polish truck driver chasing you, and in the review mirror you can see him swearing over that slow Russian motorcycle... - - NUMBER 1: First of all: Respect Poland! It is amazing how you managed to rebuild the infrastructure in almost the whole country in less than 10 years. When I was here in 2008 there were lots of really bad roads and in the villages many houses were falling apart. Now 2017, everything is new! Highways, petrol stations, supermarkets...everything! The enormous road works I saw this summer reminded me of the nice technicolor movies from US in the 50's. Catepillars and engineers all over the place! And of course, congratulations for letting the EU pay for the party! I wish my own country was as smart as Poland! Respect! At the same time it is kind of tragicomical that you ask me to PAY for driving on some of these perfect roads. I'm from Sweden you see, so I have already payed my share through the fucking EU haha! And by the way, my slow motorcycle does not like your new perfect roads. Gdynia-Gdansk: Perfect road for you - horrible for my slow Russian iron horse! #uralmotorcycles #polandtravel #suwalkigap #kolka
