Years and years ago, whilst riding in a bus over the narrow roads of Nepal's Himalayan mountains, I gazed out a creaky bus window in prayer. That mission trip to Nepal changed my life forever, but it also confirmed in my spirit what I already knew and had experienced. The team leaders suggested the kids spend some time with Jesus on that bus ride. I remember sitting next to the project director and when he saw me staring out the window with headphones in while all the other kids had their bibles open, he asked me about it. I told him that sometimes, I just needed to be quiet and just think or relax when I spent time with God. I would "think to God", is what I said. Kenny, the project director, looked at me knowingly and said, "when you are friends with someone, you talk with them all the time and get to know them better, but when you have been friends for years, you don't always need to talk. You already know each other very well. Old friends can simply sit and enjoy each other's presence." This not only honored, but also relieved my little heart. And I never again doubted myself In those quiet moments when God's Spirit called me close to Him, to sit in His presence. _______________________________________________When I was a child, I remember laying outside in the sunshine with my mom. I remember how much I would worry about how to spend time with God. I couldn't understand how studying the Bible was a relationship back then. "It's right now," she said looking up at me, "its these quiet moments when your laying in the sun and feeling the breeze on your face, when life pauses for just a minute. Those are the God moments, Nakita." _______________________________________________#intercessor #godmoments #nepal #reflection #adventure #quiet #quietmoments #silence #missingnepal #lifelessons
